now I'm comfy
Sep. 27th, 2007 05:53 pmMy new desk and chair were delivered today. Beaming couldn't have been faster! XD
The deliveryman even carried everything up to my appartment. Even though he didn't have to and without me asking. He didn't even want to accept a tip! That's on the fourth floor without a lift and all three pieces were quite heavy! Sometimes you just meet nice people!
So I spent about 3 hours installing everything. The desk is made of glass and L-shaped with a small shelve for the keyboard under the shorter side. Very nifty. I put my printer and external harddrives on the shorter side and the screen in the corner. That leaves the whole of the longer side for everything else (i.e. glasses, plates, books etc. the usual mess)
The chair is a real office chair with side arms. I can even tilt it backwards. Very comfy! Now I can put my feet on the railing underneath the desk, tilt the chair back and watch anime on my PC! What luxury!
And of course there was my daily DUH!-moment: when I finished setting up everything and tried out the chair for the first time I was quite disappointed. The back-rest was stiff and forced me to lean forward. The whole chair tilted forward!
It took me some time till I noticed I had installed the back-rest of the chair to the front of it °_°;
