tingelThis is gonna be loooong....
So last Friday was the summer outing at the office. Everything was shut down at 2 *yay* and everyone headed out to Geldern which is a small town in Northrhine Westfalia, about 70 km away. There we went canouing on that small river. Sounded soooo much fun beforehand. *shakes her head at her naive self back then* I was in a boat with my colleague from HR and two guys from ICT. First we almost capsized when we boarded. Then we had to laugh so hard that we almost capsized again. *see the trend?* And off we went. After the first half hour of 3 (!!!) I thought my arms would fall off and my bottom was killing me. Cunningly they'd set us on a course where the next opportunity to get off the boat would be our destination.... Well, the landscape was awesome and we saw lots of animals. (cows, swans, ducks, fireflies, mosquitoes, rats...) In between we did have fun. My colleague and that one ICT guy are always griping at each other which is hilarious. (it's that pair that I mentioned before in an entry earlier) And it only rained once.... About 200 m before our destination we had to pass a small weir, about half a meter down. Since we couldn't decide how to go at it *complete chaos* we just managed to squeeze through. Which isn't the best way to do it because of the lack of speed. The result: Titanic. We sank!!!!
Luckily I had a complete change of clothes in the car. Of course, I forgot the towel. But a co-worker who remained dry (!) lend one to me. Afterwards we had intended to have a barbeque at a restaurant. But because we were late and the weather poor we had dinner inside. In the end it was a nice evening. I left as one of the last and quite tipsy at that. *grin*
Saturday there was a reunion with the co-workers from my last job. We were a great team. It was so good to see everyone again. Much better than any class reunion ( I generally didn't like my classmates, so that's not so hard. But still, it was fun.) We did a kind of picnic on the Rhine banks. Under the bridge when it started to rain - again. We had a little campfire going, had some snacks, lots of beer and basically a good time. When I went home I was more than a bit tipsy (I'm such a wuss, 4 bottles of beer and I'm a gonner - Wuss!!!)
Sunday I spent just lazing around. Didn't have much energy for much else. I decided I would clean the place today. *looks around* Okay, tomorrow.
So this evening I decided to update my journal and to get the invitations for my birthday out of the way. My birthday is less than 3 weeks. Why I waited this long to ask people to come I don't know. Maybe if I don't invite anyone I won't turn 30? *aaargh... 30!!!!
So that's it basically. I'm off to watch some episodes of One Piece before I hit the mattrass.
